Formed of Grenache, Syrah, Merlot and Mourvèdre, expect rounded and detailed palate here thanks to a slightly different soil mix and extended aging in barrel. The grapes are also vinified separately before being blended together for extra flavour precision. On the nose and palette, prunes and licorice feature alongside marjoram and cedar wood. Pretty perfect for a long, lazy Sunday lunch with your dearest.

Food pairings: as the saying goes: what grows together, goes together so opt for a Languedoc classic such as Sausage Cassoulet. Vegetarians need only take a short stroll down the road to Provence and cook up Ratatouille with White Beans & Parsley Pistou.
