Britain’s Best Pantries’ Competition

Competition overview

Abel & Cole has launched the inaugural ‘Britain’s Best Pantries’ competition – celebrating their expanded refillable delivery service, Club Zero, and inspiring people to stock their kitchens sustainably throughout 2023 and beyond.

There are three competition categories – best eco-friendly pantry, best budget pantry and best small space pantry.

The individual winner of each category will be awarded the following prize:

  • £750 of cash
  • £250 of credit to use on any Abel & Cole products (in order to be awarded this part of the prize, the recipient’s home address must be within an Abel & Cole delivery area)

Entrants must send two photos of their pantry, which category they’d like to enter and a short explanation of why they should win the category to bestpantry@abelandcole.co.uk along with their name, phone number and email address.

The competition will open for entries from 00:01 on 19th January 2023 and close for entries at 23:59 on 19th February 2023.

T&Cs

  • Abel & Cole reserves the right to substitute the prize with prizes of equal or greater value at any time and cannot guarantee that the prizes will be free from all disruptions, failings and/or errors.
  • All competition entries must be received no later than 23:59 BST on the 19th February 2023. All competition entries received after the closing date will be automatically disqualified.
  • Abel & Cole reserves the right to end the competition at any time.
  • Abel & Cole reserves the right to extend the competition closing date at any time.
  • To receive the prize of £250 Abel & Cole credit, the winner must live within an existing Abel & Cole delivery area as the prize will be delivered via Abel & Cole’s delivery system. Eligible areas can be found here. No cash alternative will be offered to the £250 Abel & Cole credit if the winner is not within an existing delivery area however, in this scenario, the £750 cash element of the prize will be awarded.
  • The competition is only open to UK residents.
  • There is a limit of one entry to the competition per entrant. Entries over this limit will be void and will not be entered into the competition.
  • There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  • To be considered a valid entry, entries must disclose which category they would like to enter, along with two images and an explanation of why they should win. Entrants can only enter one category of the competition which must be specified on the application.
  • By submitting an entry into the competition, you grant Abel & Cole a non-exclusive right to use your name and your entry images:
    • in promotional, exhibition, press, sales and marketing materials (across digital and print formats)
    • on websites and in social media
  • Abel & Cole reserves all rights to disqualify the entrant if their conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition, if they are found to be tampering with the entry process, if their entry may bring Abel & Cole into disrepute, they have not complied with the entry process, or they are considered to have acted in any manner that is deemed to be in violation of these Terms and Conditions.
  • The competition is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over. Employees of Abel & Cole and their immediate families, or anyone professionally associated with this promotion is exempt.
  • Entries which are not in accordance with these terms and conditions will not be eligible.
  • The promoter’s decision in respect to all matters relating to the competition will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Judging Process

The judging process will be as follows:

Stage 1: All entries will be assessed in the first instance by Abel & Cole’s appointed communications agency Kindred Agency. Kindred will select ten (10) entries from each category to progress to stage 2.

Stage 2: The judging panel (as referred to below) will review the shortlist and will select three (3) final winning entries.

At stage 2, the competition entries will be reviewed by a panel of three judges, comprising a representative from Abel & Cole, Dilly Carter and one homes/interiors social media influencer (name TBC). Abel & Cole reserves the right to replace any of the named judges with a suitable substitute if necessary.

The decision of Kindred and the panel of judges will be final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered in to.

  • Abel & Cole will make all reasonable efforts to contact you if your entry is the winner. The winner must claim the prize within 5 days of notification, after which time an alternative winner will be selected.

Winner’s announcement

  • The names of the winners of the competition along with imagery of their entry will be announced and shared on the Abel & Cole website and social media channels as well as being included in media materials.
  • The winners of the competition will be asked to take part in media activity – including potential interviews with print/online/broadcast outlets. These will be conducted at a time that is suitable for all parties.
