Abel & Cole boxes

What are they used for? To collect your items together, to be safely delivered in one go.
What do I do with them? Leave your boxes out for your driver to collect during your next delivery. We collect and reuse our boxes to cut back on waste so please keep them out of the rain. Please don’t flatten your chill boxes and please leave their WoolCool® lining inside. Flatten any other empty boxes by following our on-box guide.

Abel & Cole box dividers

What's it used for? To keep items secure inside your box.
What do I do with it? Leave your dividers in your boxes for our driver to collect during your next delivery. We can reuse these again and again.

WoolCool® and its white chill bag

What are they used for? To help keep chilled items fresh and cold throughout the day.
What do I do with them? Leave the WoolCool® lining inside your boxes and don’t flatten the box they’re in. Leave the chill bags out with your boxes for our drivers to collect and reuse.

Club Zero containers

What are they used for? To deliver our various Club Zero products in, using packaging that can be refilled again and again.
What do I do with them? Empty out pots, pouches and bottles. Wash out the packaging with water and no soap. Make sure there isn’t any residue left inside. Put the lid or cap back on – we can’t take back containers without the lids – then pop your Club Zero containers in your empty boxes for your driver to collect.

Punnets and egg boxes (pulp or cardboard)

What are they used for? For portioning up your fruit & veg and delivering eggs safely.
What do I do with them? Please put your punnets and egg boxes in your recycling bin. Or reuse them for arts and crafts, or even growing seeds in.

Plastic bag (around your box)

What are they used for? In wet weather, we often use our plastic sheets to protect your boxes. We also do this to protect against any unwanted wildlife visitors.
What do I do with them? Leave your plastic sheet with your box for us to collect, if it’s in a good, reusable condition. If wet weather hits, you can use your bag to protect your empty boxes so they can be reused again and again. If it’s unusable again, you can put the plastic sheet in our Plastic Pick-Up bags to be recycled.

Plastic Pick-Up bags

What's it used for? To collect your flexible, scrunchable plastics in, so you can cut your plastic waste even more.

What do I do with it? Separate any plastic bags and wrapping from your items and rinse off any food residue. Once the plastic is dry, pop it in your Plastic Pick-Up bag. Then, once the bag is full, just seal it up and leave by your boxes for collection.

Ice packs and plastic lining

What are they used for? The ice packs help keep chilled items fresh and cold throughout the day. The plastic lining protects the insulating wool lining, providing a barrier to moisture and any spills.
What do I do with them? Leave your ice packs inside the plastic lining bag for us to collect and reuse. Please don’t open the packs or puncture them!

Box twine

What's it used for? To close your reusable box so its contents stay secure. Our twine is made from repurposed materials that would otherwise go to waste.
What do I do with it? You can wrap presents with it, knit with it, hang up decorations or tie plants to a trellis.

Abel & Cole leafy greens bag

What's it used for? To keep fresh leaves together securely and prevent dehydration.
What do I do with it? Put inside our Plastic Pick-Up bags for us to recycle.

Glass jars

What are they used for? To get your preserves, sauces, and spreads to you safely contained.
What do I do with them? Reuse your glass jars around the home or rinse it and recycle with your local council collection.

In the interests of Food Safety, if your pet has decided to use our boxes as a new bed, please don’t return the boxes to us as we won't be able to reuse them.

Compostable plastic packaging is not guaranteed to break down in local authority recycling systems. Unless you’re sure that your local authority collects it, please dispose of this packaging in general waste. If it’s labelled as ‘home compostable’, studies have shown that it’s still difficult for this material to break down. So if you have a compost bin at home, please consider carefully whether this is the best approach.
