print page
The oats in this recipe are not only a healthy addition, they make the burger patties extra tender, soak up loads of flavour and they make the meat stretch further! Serves 6
- 500g lean beef mince - £4.49
- 200g jumbo porridge oats - 48p
- 2 onions, finely chopped or grated - 13p
- 10g fresh parsley, finely chopped - 60p
- 1 egg, whisked - 33p
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
To serve:
- 6 Fresh white bread rolls - £1.86
- 30g English rocket - 60p
- 30g Wembury Spice Company Tomato & Onion Snap Relish - 43p
= £8.91 for 6 burgers / £1.49 per burger
Preheat the grill or get a frying pan to hand. Mix all the ingredients together really well. Divide into 6. Shape into balls. Then, flatten into patties. Grill on bbq or under oven grill. Or, pan fry in a bit of olive oil and finish burgers off in a 200C preheated oven until cooked through cooking about 3 minutes on each side then 10 minutes in the oven.
Once cooked, pile onto bread rolls immediately, allowing the bread to soak up all the meat juices. Top with rocket and spread the top slice of the bread roll with a slick of tomato relish.
