This home-mulled cider makes your kitchen smell incredible and gives you a lovely warm feeling inside. Especially after a mugful. Because it doth not sparkle, Luscombe’s cider is perfect for mulling.

  • 4 bottles Luscombe Devon Cider or 1½ ltr apple juice
  • 4 tbsp Demerara sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • A thumb of ginger
  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

1. Cut your ginger into 3 slices, about 1cm thick each. Pour half the cider in a pan or pot. Add the ginger slices, the apple and all the other ingredients to the pot. Let it simmer for 20-30 mins.
2. Top up with the remaining cider. Simmer for a few mins to warm through.
3. Taste. Add more sugar as needed. Simmer further till the sugar’s fully dissolved. Ladle up.
