Semi-sparkling Prosecco is always better for immediate drinking. This is a classic Italian drink, pale straw yellow with greenish highlights. It’s slightly delicate nose is wonderfully fruity with notes of green apple, peach and floral notes.

Just wind a corkscrew in and remove with a squeak and a pop. The string simply holds the cork in place beforehand.

The family estate at San Polo di Piave has been making wines since 1427. As Vittorio Carraro, the man in charge now, says: ‘experience matters’. The vineyards are in a natural depression, four meters below the rest of the surrounding flat lands, giving their Prosecco a simple, clean and uplifting character.
