Delicious fresh brown and white crab meat from our friends at Seafood & Eat It, whose sustainably sourced crab meat has become firm favourite of foodie Angela Hartnett because of its fantastic taste.
The meat is 33% white crab meat and 67% brown crab meat. It needs nothing more that a squirt of lemon and a crack of black pepper. It's a real treat to find dressed crab like this, and from such a sustainable source.
It comes rather beautifully in the shell (to bring you that bit closer to the sea).
Neville was a skipper fishing for crab in west Cornwall. Working for someone else and watching the boat owners take the lion’s share of the boat earnings was taking its toll. Meanwhile in London, his half-brother Richard was fed up with his dreary sales job.
Richard left his job and went backpacking in Honduras, while Neville was forced from crab fishing by a terrible accident that nearly caused him to lose his arm.
He wasn't able to work for a while,'' says Richard. "We had no money and the Fishermen's Mission was helping with our grocery bills.''
The Prince’s Trust also helped them out. They’d hatched a business plan: they’d source fresh Cornish crab from fishermen that Neville knew, hand-pick the meat themselves and sell it to local restaurants. They’re now packing their gorgeous Cornish crab in little pots for us to enjoy at home, too.
