This is Jon. Isn’t he lovely?
He used to be a driver, now he coordinates Farmer’s Choice.
In the last school year, we’ve helped schools raise £57642.00 (to be precise) through the not-for-profit Farmer’s Choice scheme.
Keith came up with Farmer’s Choice a few years ago, to help his local primary school raise a bit of extra cash. And, like most of Keith’s ideas – it was a winner!
Basically, the deal is this: we give participating schools bags of fruit and veg at cost price. They then sell the bags to parents and teachers for a retail price, and they keep the difference.
All manner of wonderful things have been possible, including new libraries, IT stuff, playground equiptment, and the list goes on…
Celia Irvin, the Farmer’s Choice Fundraiser at Fircroft School in South London, has raised over £6000.00 for the school. She asked us if we’d be able to supply some fruit for their inaugural Fun Run this year.
We were happy to help out and, courtesy of Rob our warehouse manager, two boxes of bananas were delivered to the school. Jay Baylis of the Friends of Fircroft writes:-
“Thanks for your brilliant donation of bananas, they went down a treat. The day could not have happened without the likes of Abel and Cole coming through for us.
“A team of 6 and 7 year olds took charge of handing out the bananas to the adult runners and after the kids run there were only skins left!
In the end we’ve managed to raise over £1,000!”

This article initially had me very confused as I get my organic meat delivered from a company called “Farmer’s Choice”. I thought you had teamed up with them. Now that I realise that is not what you are talking about here – I suspect you probably need to be careful using another company’s name in this way.
