We are chuffed to bits at Abel & Cole because our Seville Orange & Mandarin Marmalade has just won Bronze in the World’s Original Marmalade Championships.
A few weeks ago we entered our two marmalades from Thursday Cottage into the Worlds Original Marmalade competition. We heard that there were 720 entries in total, 120 of which were in our category; ‘Artisan Producer’…so competition was steep!
However, it was good news for us when the judges submitted their final decision: Our Seville Orange & Mandarin Marmalade was awarded Bronze.
This also meant, however, that our Marmalade was judged to be in the top 10 in the country, because the judges awarded 2 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 4 Bronzes (including us) within the category. This is pretty jammy, if you ask us!
We are now enjoying our marmalade even more than usual…and proud of the fruity recipe we put together with Thursday Cottage.
Be warned, though, we’re now keen to hold our own championships for our customer’s homemade marmalade next year. That should give plenty of time to practice though!

You sent me a free sample and I am hooked. I have ordered preserve gift trio as Christmas gift.
