This delicious smoky bacon is from Richard Hazell's free-range pigs in the Cotswolds. It's beautifully cured and makes a fantastic addition to a classic English breakfast.
This 250g pack contains approximately 8-9 rashers.
This pork comes from Newington Farm in Gloucestershire, which is run by Richard Hazell, an organic farmer who recently acquired this farm with the specific purpose of supplying his customers with the next best thing to organic.
Richard says, “I acquired Newington Farm in response to recent economic pressure on the organic industry and the recession affecting consumer's food budgets.” Newington Farm is a traditional free range farm where he raises pigs using the same fundamental organic principles and adopts the highest animal health and welfare standards – the pigs are even provided with a 100% organic diet. Newington Farm is not certified as organic but instead provides you with the opportunity to buy truly superior free range pork at an affordable price.

Grill or fry bacon until it begins to crisp, and press it between two soft white slices of bread, preferably home-baked or unsliced. Add a little brown sauce or ketchup for the perfect bacon sandwich. Toast the bread, and add lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise for a great BLT.
Bacon can also be used in pasta dishes and salads, as part of a full English breakfast, or to add flavour to cooking poultry. Bacon, cream and leeks, or bacon, breadcrumbs and parsley, make a perfect pasta accompaniment.
Bacon should be kept in the fridge, and should not be stored above other food, unless in a sealed container. It can be frozen on the day of purchase.
