This is a Welsh classic, crafted to perfection through generations of know-how (Carwyn's great great grandmums started it all). It has a loose texture, and crumbles slightly, and your palate will be tickled by its delicate flavour. Oh, and the lady in the tub is Thelma (mum of Carwyn), dressed as Cleopatra, and she's sat in a bath of milk. This, while being towed through the town of Carmarthen, was her form of protest against the 1984 milk quotas capping milk production that resulted in milk becoming cheaper than water.

Caws Cenarth have been making exceptional cheese for three decades now. The business was started by Gwynfor and Thelma Adams in response to difficult conditions in the agricultural industry as dairy farmers were forced to cope with the introduction of Milk Quotas - making cheese from the milk produced by their herd was a way of ensuring that they would not go above their allocated quota of milk.

But the venture was a huge success and by today, Caws Cenarth is run by their son, Carwyn, who is just as passionate about the enterprise and about making great Welsh cheese as his parents were. Over the years, Caws Cenarth cheese has been sold to and served in some of the top shops and eateries in the country and the products have also won numerous awards, including Supreme Champion at the British Cheese Awards with their newest creation, Golden Cenarth.
