John Green's family dairy is based in the heart of Somerset – home of 14 of the 10 West Country Farmhouse cheddars. It is a true father, son and grandchild set up. The milk comes from their own cows and (if you can understand him) John will talk of nothing but his love of cheddar (his family have been making cheese since the 1600's). By the way, no harm intended by the poke at the West Country accent. John's son Lloyd says "the cows even moo with a Somerset drawl!"
Farmhouse cheddar is meant to be your everyday cheese. It's not aged, giving it a mildly nutty, slightly sweet overall flavour. Though, we think Green's Farmhouse cheddar is several notches better than average.
It has a mantle full of awards to back-up our theory that this organic cheddar is one of a kind! If you want to make a macaroni and cheese to knock someone's socks off, or if you're looking for a cheese to make a plate of toast taste like a Michelin starred meal, this is your cheese.
Try Green's Vintage Cheddar to take this cheese-eating-experience to an ever greater realm!
